Detailed Drawings + Plant List
40" X 30"

The Process:

The end result of our process is providing you with a detailed landscape plan, just as an architect would provide a set of finished blueprints for a building.

The process is as follows:
1. Initial meeting to determine the scope of the project.
2. Site analysis and photos.
3. Site survey and base preparation.
4. Develop final landscape plan.
5. Review plan with owner.
6. Make adjustments as needed.
7. Coordinate bids for installation. (optional)

One of Degler Design’s main goals is to make whatever “it” is, look better.

You Get More “Bang For The Buck”:

Budget is always a concern and we design with that in mind.  Knowing that you can’t make a project look good for nothing, we work with your priorities, so you get your best “bang for the buck”.

You can also develop a master plan to be phased in over time.  Putting in a little sweat-equity is a beautiful thing when trying to keep costs down.

A final landscape plan can also be used as a selling point for a property.  A plan developed by a professional, even though it may only be partially implemented or not at all, is a very attractive perk to a potential buyer.

The End Result:

Although a landscape is never really “done”, your project will be one you will come to enjoy and appreciate year-round.  From the spring flowers to fall colors and everything else in-between, you will come to know everything about your landscape.  Eventually you will put your own touches on it and make it your own

A nicely landscaped home can increase the value by 15% or more.

Professional landscaping can be the most profitable addition you can make to your home.  Statistics have shown that homes with good landscaping can expect a 4% to 5% greater sales price, and homes with excellent landscaping can expect 6% to 7% higher sales prices than those rated average.

At selling time, landscaping improvements can recover costs at a higher rate than many other key improvements:

Landscaping

Kitchen Remodeling
75% - 125%
Bathroom Remodeling

A mature tree can have an actual appraised value of $1,000 to $10,000.  Was the following purchase a good investment?

Effective landscaping can reduce energy expenses.

Landscaping may be your best long-term investment for reducing heating and cooling costs.  Planting trees, shrubs, vines, grasses, and hedges could save you money while beautifying your home.

A well-designed landscape will:

  • Cut your summer and winter energy costs dramatically.
  • Protect your home from winter wind and the summer sun.
  • Help control noise and air pollution

In the summer, you may have noticed the coolness of parks and wooded areas compared to the temperature of nearby city streets. Shade from trees can reduce surrounding air temperatures as much as 9 degrees F.  Because cool air settles near the ground, air temperatures directly under trees can be as much as 25 degrees F cooler than air temperatures above a nearby blacktop.

In the winter, wind chill is a factor.  Homes are either naturally shielded from the wind by other homes or landscape can be used to create windbreaks.  A 10 degree day + 20 mph wind = wind chill of -24 degrees.  Proper landscaping is worth its weight in gold during this time of year.

In summary, some homeowners are able to achieve as much as a 30% reduction in heating and cooling costs through careful landscape planning.
